Long Island Diving: They say if you can dive here, you can dive anywhere. I worked hard to acquire all my certifications in Long Island waters. The visibility is poor most of the time. The bottom is black mud on the North Shore. On the South Shore you have the Atlantic Ocean bringing in some tropical fish and sandy bottom rich in sand dollars. Our summers are short so our waters are cold most of the time which means you have to dive in full gear.
